SCOTT JAMIESON, M.S., ACSM EP-C, Health & Wellness Director
I began my fitness journey in the fall of 2004 where I first started to become active having joined both the cross-country and track & field programs at school. Excelling at both sports throughout high-school I decided to change things up a bit and was introduced to weight lifting by a friend of mine. Having turned a passion into a career, I eventually went on to receive my undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and most recently a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Adult Fitness from The University of Akron. I have been a registered member through the American College of Sports Medicine since 2011 and currently am certified as an Exercise Physiologist. I have experience working with a wide variety of populations through many different health and wellness domains including wellness coaching, cardiac rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and weight training.

MATTHEW MALAK, NASM-CPT, PERSONAL TRAINER
I began my fitness journey in September 2007. Growing up and into high school, I was always teased for being overweight and over my appearance. I also lacked a significant amount of self-confidence. I knew that I intended to teach high school in the future, but I really took a hard look and asked myself: am I the best version of myself? Am I the best role model I can be to the youth of America? I thought about it and decided no. I decided to make a change. I began walking and then jogging over the following year, and lost over 60 pounds in the process. After getting into college, I began to immerse myself with many forms of training: resistance, stability, core-focused, balance, and general cardiovascular exercise. I realized that I enjoyed and loved all types of training, and after I received my teaching degree, I felt becoming a certified personal trainer would be an even greater way to establish myself as a positive role model for youth and adults alike. I am hopeful to touch others’ lives in a positive way through motivating, teaching, and training them to believe in themselves and reach all of their goals in both fitness, mind, body, and life and to mentor and coach them on how to deal with adversity and the highs and lows of daily life.

JOSEY RUPERT, ACSM CPT, PERSONAL TRAINER
I am a former collegiate Cross Country runner having competed for Eastern University from 2011-2015, and winning the MAC Championship race my senior year. Running has been an integral part of my life for many years, and I am a lover of short-shorts, long runs, chocolate milk, research in training techniques, physiology, and multiple runner nerd-isms. I achieved my B.S. in Exercise Science, and became certified as a Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). This curriculum included rigorous instruction in results-oriented training systems for diverse populations. My focus as a trainer is to assist and educate others in reaching their personal fitness goals, whether those be increasing muscle mass and strength, competing in a half marathon, losing body fat, improving agility for a sport, or simply improving daily functioning. I will work with you to create a personal training plan that is effective, fun, and specific to your needs as well as guide and encourage you on your journey to better health!
